I had a careless brush with a sharp object and my D2 came off worse. It needs a bonnet and bumper cap, the wing is repairable.
I’ve found a good pre facelift bonnet (it’ll be sprayed, I’m not trying to colour match), am I correct in thinking the bonnet was unchanged on the facelift?
If anyone...

Indeed.
As I’ve still got the original front prop with sealed UJ’s to the double cardan maybe it’s time to upgrade.
Same for rear to possibly upgrade to non rubber donut!

After far too long off the road with expired MOT my old girl (2004 D2 manual td5) now has a shiny new MOT. Taxing from 1st March.
Just minor advisories for dust covers on both lower suspension ball joints. As the actual ball joints are OK and the work involved to strip them out, I’m considering...

I’m clearing up a couple of old threads.
Used Morris K48, greased the sliders OK. Front prop/diff only showed grease at 1 cup. Rear prop/transfer box only showed grease at 2 cups.
Will try again after a good long run, she’s back on the road on the 1st.

Master cylinder has arrived. For some reason I was expecting a removeable reservoir cap with the talk of bleeding even though I knew the one on the car wasn’t removeable  .
Now I’m nervous to fit it I case I end up with more problems as I don’t have a universal cap adapter for my...

Thanks Nodge.
I got a LUK master cylinder being delivered today.
Hopefully not to fiddly to replace with my big hands. Is there a knack to the quick connector since I don’t have the LR tool?
I’ve got a pressure bleeder but just wondering if the old trick of leaving the clutch depressed...

Island 4x4 also state that slave should be replaced at the same time:
Must only be fitted by a specialist and with a new slave cylinder (DO NOT BLEED!!).
Rave makes no mention of this, I assume they’re covering themselves for a bad seal.
There’s no way I’m removing the gearbox myself and with...

Clutch pedal dropped to the floor on my FL 1 td4 with zero travel.
Lifted pedal and it’s seemingly OK again.
Is this more likely a failing master cylinder than slave?
I’m slightly confused as Island 4x4 state on the item listing for both Britpart and LUK (I’d buy LUK) “Do Not Bleed” yet...

Thanks everyone for all the replies. I won’t touch it for now and will carry on getting her ready for MOT.
Exactly this and why I was hoping to take her for MOT before any repair.

Thanks, so you think the actual chassis bracket should be OK? 🤞
I’m happy to take on non welding mechanical works on the drive.
I was looking at these Terra Firma turrets.

2004 D2 td5 58,000 miles. SORN/MOT expired.
Still working to try and get my old girl back on the road.
Serviced the front brakes this afternoon and while doing the drivers side noticed the suspension turret and/or chassis spring bracket is badly rusted.
For the condition it’s in would this be...

I’m working hard to get my old girl back on the road. Have done R380, LT230 and diffs oil changes today. Hopefully head for MOT soon but for now she’s expired and SORNED.
Mine still has the original sealed for life double cardan UJ’s. 2004 with 58k on the clock. I’m a driveway mechanic so don’t...

Well that was some short lived joy.
I always keep the car on single point entry although I’ve turned it off before now and confirm the unlocking fault was still present.
Driving this morning on SPE, about 20 mins down the dual carriageway it unlocked the remaining doors then started clicking...

@pscan.eu To be honest, given I already have the Hawkeye, the only things I feel I’m really missing are SAWDOC access and power bleeding the brakes.
Pscan looks a fabulous tool but I can’t really justify it for one old car when I already have Hawkeye for it and fully loaded Nanocom for D2.
I’m...

Joy of joys, I hope it’s not a PITA to diagnose that.
