Latest update : took the car into a range specialist yesterday and after a poke around they found out the plastic intake manifold is cracked ! How I don't know but this would certainly explain a lot I feel. Anyway a replacement has been sourced and awaiting fitment. Keep you posted

Ok three weeks since is happened to my car, it's done around two hundred miles now and still smoking from the exhaust ! A mixture of black/ greyish looking muck. I keep an eye on the oil level and it's not budged so it's not burning engine oil off. At first I thought it was improving but I think...

Small update for anybody interested,done about another 40 mile today with not much difference but after a few miles tonight on boost mainly ( awful under the street lights at night) there seemed to be a hell of a lot less smoke by the time I got home !!! So fingers crossed

Thankyou that has give me a bit of hope in it clearing. I have been told it will but seeing the smoke it puts out after you just threw a wad of cash at it doesn't fill you with confidence.

Hi, not sure they would of cleaned exhaust at all but they said inter cooler and pipes were all cleaned out. They did say they drilled a small hole in the system to help. I presume the cat is full of oil aswell as the huge back box. My main fear about fitting a new exhaust is that once on it...

10 miles is excellent, I've done about 30 this morn and it's still bellowing on boost. I'm keeping an eye on the oil levels also. The garage say they've taken it out a few times and the oil level remains so I'll give it a while and see how it goes but fear it may not burn off.

Just got the car back, it's had a recon turbo,upgraded crankcase breather,air,fuel and oil filters along with oil obviously and is running great but my only prob is the smoke is still coming on boost ! The garage said unless I fit a new exhaust I'm gonna have to wait for it to burn its self...

Sorry ,what I'm trying to ask is do you think likely the engines knackered or just turbo replacement? Here's the situation: no rod through block ,no oil spill anywhere and oil still present in sump. Would it be likely to choke its self before melt down ? Are these no interference engines ?just...

Thank you, there's still oil in my sump it ran for about a minute before stalling at full bore smoke bellowing etc. couldn't tell you if it clattered or not on stalling as I was pre occupied on removing my two young kids from the car..anybody like to guess my options now ?

Anybody know if there is an air shut off valve on the td6 to prevent complete engine failure at all ??? Thanks Dan

Anybody changed a rear damper on a td6? The shock it's self is fine but I'm told the mounting bush on the top is kaput..the squeaking noise from it is driving me crazy! Is this part available separately or is part of shock. Any tips appreciated. Thanks
