Hi All
I have an intermittent, quite high frequency vibration when the transmission is unloaded. It's only done it a couple of times and has only just started to occur. If pulling or braking it doesn't happen, only when the engine / transmission is unloaded.
It's a similar sound to what you...

I forgot to add. It appeared to be trying to 'drive' a bit even with the clutch pedal fully down.

I was approaching a roundabout the other day and as I came down the gears couldn't select anything. After about 10 seconds of frantic wiggling I managed to get first but took a lot of 'persuasion'. I seemed to be able to change ok after that, although seemed 'notchy' on each change. I was also...

I've had an apologetic screwfix call this morning saying that they don't have the stock to fulfil the order. :(

I've not actually done anything with the injection pump, apart from cracking the odd banjo connection to try to get the air out. I'll definately check the wiring on the stop solenoid. I may have caught a lead when rummaging around in there.

I've primed the filter through fine. Just seems as though the main pump has got a gulp of air in. I'll try bleeding it out at the fuel valves tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.

I have just replaced the lift pump on my 200 tdi and seem to be having some problems getting the system bled and primed. It looks as though I've got air in the main injection pump. What's the best procedure to get it primed through?

Nobody heard of irony??  And no it's not like tinny and coppery. Obviously need to be a little more blunt in future.:D :D

I did mine when I was changing my cambelt. Would be easiest to remove viscous unit. I think they are supposed to be removed with a special offset spanner but managed to get to mine with a 10 inch shifter. I think it might be a left hand thread. Then remove cowling. Other belt will be the power...

You do need to take the heater unit out of the vehicle. No drilling of rivets required on mine, all self tappers. Remove old matrix and fit new with foam. The heater unit top mounting screws are very awkward to get to. I think Mr Haynes recommends taking the bonnet off, but you can just about...

I'm thinking of getting a spare engine to build up ready for when I have trouble with my existing unit. I currently run a Defender 200Tdi in a 90. Can I get a Discovery 200Tdi engine (cheaper), change the ancillaries over and fit straight in, i.e. is the block the same for both engines?
Thanks

Cheers, really appreciate the info.

Can anyone please tell me if a turbo from a 200tdi disco will fit to a 200tdi defender engine? Cheers
