    205 80 16 Good Year Wrangler AT/S QTY 4

OK I see. Should have put in parts section. I would like to say to big ginga beard that you should also look at the rules thread for the for sale section. I quote `No ****taking in for sale or wanted threads, please keep on topic and only ask questions about the items for sale/wanted` Your post...

    205 80 16 Good Year Wrangler AT/S QTY 4

Tyres were fitted to my freelander 1 with no other modifications required. Tread depth left are 10mm, 7mm, 7mm, 5mm. 10mm was the spare and has only done 200 miles. All held air fine with no punctures when removed. I have zoomed in with a couple of photos on the 10mm tyre to show the wall...

td4 bogs down and stalls on tough lanes synergy

Update - Last week I turned the Synergy from setting 10 (great for road and acceleration) to 8. My timings that rover ron suggest (30 to 50 mph) etc showed setting 10 was better. But just been to Yorkshire Dales and Moors this weekend with it on setting 8 and it was like a different car. I've...

    Our TD4 is supposedly chipped

Degraded MAF over time perhaps? I'm thinking of going back to Bosch and remap, and I would take some readings with ODBII reader when done to get a feel for the MAF signal, so if it degrades I could tell.

td4 bogs down and stalls on tough lanes synergy

Thanks for the comments. I have the EGR bypass kit on. I let the anti-stall take care of the gentle slopes with all feet off. But up bigger slopes I think I had it in power mode when it stalled and I was going about 10 to 15 mph. The 1.8 behind couldn't believe it had stalled and thought I was...

td4 bogs down and stalls on tough lanes synergy

I have synergy 2a and big tyres so effectively geared a bit higher. Seem to have problems with engine bogging down and stalling with foot to floor when on some uphill sections of lanes or over rocky bits. A 1.8 petrol with us seems to cope much easier (standard tyres) It seems a real battle...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Mad weekend in wales. Took paint off on rock and had to be rescued with 2 whinches and a tow rope all at once to stop her rolling over into beck. Turned me ghost white in face that bit.

    I know, But oil !

Did use 10W40 Castrol GTX then Magnatec semi-synthetic. But having just had my turbo blow (ran away engine etc) an oil change was done as part of the warranty for the new turbo. It's now on Comma Xtech fully synthetic 5W30 and I think the old girl is running a bit smoother. 107k miles on 53...

    Freelander tools.

Agree much better to buy socket bar. Also I found the best tool to get the locking nut cover off is an old compass for drawing circles not finding north. Take out the sharp point and the wedge shape where the point was is a perfect fit to slot in behind the lip of the cover and it just pulls off...

    16" wheels & 5mm Spacers

The rear view of the wheel on the left is same as mine on 53 plate with upgraded brakes. The one of the right looks to have concave center which wouldn't sit right on my hubs. I cannot find a picture at the moment to help further. I think you can make the wrong one fit but it will be stressing...

    Snow!

Went for a play last night. Seemed to have to much grip as to make her slide you have to go faster to a point that is dangerous. I like to test its handling to practice in case I do start slipping. Good job as I now know slight brake imbalance as she skids slightly at an angle. Also had some...

    2002 TD4 Rear brakes problem

I put some molykote (spelling? who cares) 111 grease on my brake parts, but then wiped it back off as I thought it made it parts bind a bit. So only have a bit of copper slip on rub pads on rear face/brake shoe. Does the copper grease on the adjuster thread cause more resistance to turn? Mine...

A WINTERS TALE ( might stop somebody being daft like me)

Just read about the disco 2 having a bathrobe setting using testbook to allow them to lock. Bit extreme and expensive to connect testbook to set it up. Wonder if freelander is same

A WINTERS TALE ( might stop somebody being daft like me)

Tried to lock mine with a second key and it doesn't work. (53 plate FL1 5 door) Turned key both ways but it would not lock. Maybe different firmware in mine? Anyone else trying to lock while warming up?
