Where is the best most common place to put a cd changer in a 3 door freelander
-
A
Is this possible or not.
Lots of people have upgraded their exterior freelander to the face lift model.
Has any one actually done the interior aswell?

think its abs - discs on front and drums on back. how do i tell
-
A
abs. do i need to know anything.
this howling noise im refering to does stop when i apply the breaks. does thi mean a bearing or brakes?
-
A
what i have said on previous post is that the wheel doesnt spin. itgoes forward about 6 inches then stops.
would this make sense if the brake was sligtly stuck on?
-
A
funny you should say the one brake pad is metal to metal. gonna change tem tomorrow.
never had a freelander before but what i have noticed is that if im on the motorway and put the clucth down it slows very quickly. this prob corrosponds with what you are saying regarding a brake stuck on.

Theres a loud howling noise coming from my freelander 1.8i when i go about 60mph uphill.
the front o/s wheel get red hot? is this a bearing and is this related to the howling sound? its a very very loud howling sound.

A
should the front wheel spin easily when jacked up. only reason i think its the vcu is because of this front wheel not spinning and there is a very loud houling sound when going over 60mph on a light up hill

Lots of posts on here about the tippex test.
I am a newbie and really dont know where to mark. could someone do a diagram or something. i did it and put a line through the two hubs that turn but i didnt mark the shafts. Where EXACTLY should i be marking.
Thanks

The vcu does spin but both hubs spin together at the same speed.

I have attatched a pic which is the best way i can describe it.
I put a line of tippex through the large one to the smaller one in line with the prop shaft.

I took it to a specialist today and they told me to do the visous test. i put tippex in a line and it was still lined up after i drove it full lock.
does this mean that the viscous is f***ed.
the specialist said this would stop the front wheel from free turning on its own.
