Get someone with the Testbook software to read the ECU - they can tell you what faults are recorded plus the security code is logged in the ECU. There's some procedure that allows you to overide the immobiliser if you lock/unlock door in the right sequence

A few weeks ago my '99 110 CSW td5 started running rough
It'd clear after running a bleed cycle so I replaced the injector washers & O Rings
fine & dandy for 2 weeks. Then...
refused to start at all, despite bleed cycle so I did the following...
#1. replaced the fuel filter = no better...
I'm planning to convert my td5 110 CSW to auto. Having priced up breaker parts vs. Ashcroft kit I've bought a write off Disco2 TD5 Auto as the donor vehicle.
To manage the costs the plan is
overhaul the box & fit the larger suffix 24 clutch plates
exchange purchase the Ashcroft large torque...
Found the same problem on my Defender 70k miles; absolutely clogged with black jelly like cack. Even after changing the air sepaerator in the filte rhousing the diesel looked like fizzy pop [run it into a jug] When the jelly stuff dried out looked like fine soil particles.
Removed a load...
The mushroom ones are designed to act like a cyclone and spit out the larger bits of dust in the air so that you can drive in dusty conditions for longer without having to clean the standard air filter. The others only raise the air intake.
If you get pulled over by VOSA they'll nick you for either red deisel or veg oil - :(
red is @ 26p/l atm vs 50p/l veg oil - probability of being stopped is the same, so financially red would be the best option
perhaps worth washing the rad again - when mud dries it a good insulator
while youve got the hose out give the alternator a good rinse too otherwise teh mud will wear it out prematurely

get them to check the postion & fastness of the pick up on the accelerator switch - the whole thing is a big potentiometer so they should also be able to check that the resistance values are correct.... The ECU has a different map when in low range - again get them to check that the transfer...
