good one LR - any reason why you only went for an 8mm hole - or was that the largest you could practically do? Did you try applying heat to the plug to expand it in the casing first??

Cheers MHM

It was the largest metric tap I could find, I have up to M12 but could I find them after moving house several months back

The internal bore of the plug is 14mm (see pics post 14 above) so you could theoretically go up to M14.

I have an assortment of narrow pipes, adapters and large syringes for fiddly gearbox refilling. I know Ming uses an empty silicone cartridge with a length of 1/4" tubing for refilling

I use a 1.5 litre garden pressure sprayer, without the nozzle on the end. It is easy to get into confined spaces and once pressurised - yu just watch it fill. no dribbles, no effort:D.

Great Tip! How does it cope with the viscosity of the oil, have you bored out the pinhole outlet in the nozzle?

I have a large capacity one waiting to be modified for bleeding the coolant system. I will rework the rubber diaphram so it creates a low vacuum rather than pressure... but thats another thread/story ;)
