TD5 auto won't go

Hi folks, we have a TD5 auto in the workshop which sometimes goes, especially from cold. After a while the engine just stops and strange electrical things happen. These are:

Check engine light comes on, then goes off, etc
Red temp light comes on, temp gauge goes to 0.
Fuel pump runs erratically, switches off for a millisecond then back on again.
glow plug light goes on and off with the check engine light
Gearbox M and S lights flash
D indicator flashes on gearchange.

Auto gearbox fault codes from Rovacom are:

P1884 CAN MESSAGE WFPDK (DKI) INVALID (FFH)
P1843 CAN TIMEOUT MONITORING
P1842 CAN LEVEL MONITORING
P1884 CAN MESSAGE MD_IND INVALID (FLAG F_TL_MES)

While this is happening the engine will crank but not start.

We have swopped the engine Ecu for another with no change. Swopped the injector harness for a new one with no change. Checked the plug on the gearbox gear indicator switch.

Any ideas, anyone?

(If you see this post on other forums it is because I am hoping that someone will have an idea or so. No luck so far....)

Injector washers?

I'm at the end of my ttether with a TD5 Def90 that won't start and it has been suggested several times now about "runs but quits?"

Exh gases enter the common rail via defective washers and the plunger can't create the 1750bar necessary to crack the injector because it's full of gases

Be careful drain the rail before you start popping injectors out as you'll get fuel running into the cyls and reisk of hydaulic lock if you don't drain it!

If it's not all out the exces fuel may stop the bugger starting i.e. damp the flame?

Thanks, but we've changed the inj. washers and have now substituted every sensor and the ECU. No change. The owner is going to sell it on auction, we think.

Hi guys just checked my Discovery 2 TD5 ES Auto, had a fault in the week had the S and M lights flashing on dash? so i have put my lynx Britpart gear on it and i had 2 faults P1843 CAN Timeout Monitoring and P1842 CAN LEVEL Monitoring.could anyone give me any details on these faults and what would be the fix for this
