hiya folks, can somebody help with a tyre size that would suit my disco for laning, as i want to go bigger for the clearance, have lifted it 2" and cut and rolled the arches, would 235x85x16 be to big and wide ???   .. and has anybody tryed these Greenaway tyres, thinking of the macho MT range???

well i used to go on ATs from colway, but kept getting stuck in willts, so went to colway MTs they arnt that bad for damage to the surface...

Macho MT's is wot HB uses on her 90... same tread pattern as the Insa's on mine and Marcus' S3 too. Work well and provided you've got no clearance issues (lift and cut arches should be ok provided it's been done right) with a total diameter of about 32 inches they'll do you proud laning.

Trouble will be on road - they're loud with a capital LOU compared with AT's or 'street' tyres - when I switched from Pirelli ST's (road tread) to the Insa's it cut my effective braking roughly (seat of the pants) 50% This will mean a drop in your effective cornering by about the same. If you can live with that and adjust your driving style, or have a spare set of road tyres fr road use then go for it.

Cheers,

have no trouble as used MTs on the road for sometime now, just after some suggestions on the sizes as i find the standard size limits the clearance sumwhat, thanks for the input mate and i have had the arches cut and rolled on the rear by a pro..

at the mo i am using BF Goodrich MTs 225x75x16, there ok but i keep grounding out, and as i have punched the sidewall out of one this weekend i am looking for something else bigger that will lift it a bit...
