Coventry, bugger my luck.
Hi All

Great site, love the banter. I'm a happy Landy owner since November '08. Having read a lot of these posts I now know why Defender owners carry a foot-long length of 6mm thick steel bar - it's to prise squirrels out of their tyre treads :D

A problem has just started on my 05 TD4 HSE - I can't reset the trip meter to zero! I used to be able to, but now I can't. I appreciate that in the Top 100 list of problems, this comes in at 99 (after "One of my tyres is a little bit dirty") however it's annoying when trying to calculate fuel economy etc especially as there is no trip compooter. Can somebody please suggest a) where and b) how hard I need to hit it with a hammer?

If you wanted fuel economy - why buy a Land Rover,
mine is good on fuel, a tankful lasts until its empty

Why? Cos it's double the 20-odd I was getting from my Octavia 2.0 and besides, now I'm getting on a bit, I wanted a taller car to save wear & tear on the knees. Besides, the front end looks ace.

Just tried holding the right button in before & during ignition - display was blank for a few seconds then went to Odo. Checked Trip, now zero. wtf?!

Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
