with series and deffender doors is there a point when theyre rotted to death that theyre actually beyond repair such as the bottom rail totaly gone corners rotted out

or are they never too rotted for an overhaul

if so does evryone just repair them or do they just replace them with others from broken landys and keep the old rotted ones for bits such as latches and hinges

i was looking at the prices some people on ebay n things want for half decent useable doors and bulkheads and thought to myself why doesnt anyone out there recondition doors and bulkheads and sell them part ex for the old ones being replaced from their vehicles

would it be a good viable business idea to offer a specialist service such as this or am i ****ing against the wind with this idea

You can make new frames for the doors quite easily, with the profiles readily available off fleabay, you only need the use of a MIG welding set!

All you need to do is remove the old rotten ones and replace them with the brand new ones that you have just made.

Simple :D:D

I'm sure there is a couple of companies out there that repair doors, but as well as doing the framework they might need to repair/replace the skin on some, fit new locks with keys, replace the window regulator unit, maybe replace the glass on some if broken or security etched, and of couse properly spray paint the whole lot, and replace the door trim card.

In all, I doubt you would get one cheap...
Most people on a budget would probably still buy ones from a breakers, and those with money would probably still buy new...

As said above it's an easy job if you can weld. Prety sure we picked up the repair pannels from paddocks when we did ours.
