Orienteering course??

Site service... kids/adults chip in time to improve some aspect of the site. Our area scouts rebuilt a path one saturday afternoon on one site we use.

Dodgeball... always a winner wiv comp age kids.

If we can get a decent amount of cardboard egg boxes, tumble dryer fluff and the waste mould wax from dentists - kids could make firelighters to use when lighting fires in the evenings.

How bout different sections to replicate the forum sections , I.e mechanical tent , green laning tent , AG(brawling area ) and introduce yourself (table and chair with interrogation lamp and small group of hecklers?)
Just another random thought :D

There is a large wood

Then there's the problem of the mapping.

String course for littleuns - no problem, but maps? Could probably knock up something halfway decent given a day on site (with GPS). Wouldn't be to-the-step accurate, and wouldn't have contours, but might be good enough.

Waz about thu googly urth satelite imagery - I knows it maybe outta date but it might be a starting point.

Or it could be an A, B, C or spell a word type of orienteer, with likkle arrows or dots indicating the way onwards, letters could be laminated and stapled/tied to a post/tree/landy and then we have to hope no sick likkle munkeys go round twisting the things round, or we just do what we do when we do it with our scouts - have a badge/logo at the top that has to be right way up to show correct reading way.
