I'm off to Yorkshire (Harrogate) for a two night stay tomorrow night with my wife. We're going in my Defender 110 from Northamptonshire so it's about a 3 hour drive (I hope!) and I'd like to know what are the top things to see/do in that area?

Of course I've been in tinternet and had a poke about but there must be some locals on here with some insider knowledge.

I'm not talking off-roading, nor nuffink, just some normal sights and scenic drives around that area.

Ta.

Head t Pateley Bridge and then then turn right up the side of the dams, fantastic scenery. And you can pass Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal and the lower end of the Nidderdale area of outstanding beauty (or something like that)

If you have someone with you and a Landy :D you can do some very easy scenic lanes like Fountains Earth Road too
