Hello all

The first time I made contact with Landyzone was about two - three months ago, when I started digging information about Mk1 Freelanders and what should be taken into account in case one plans to purchase one.
Well, I got a load of good hints and tips, which saved me a lot of money in the long run for sure.
So, in short: I just purchased my first Land Rover for my wife's use.
It is a Mk1 Freelander, 5D TD4 2004 with manual gearbox. I looked for automatic, but here in Finland they were either overpriced or then totally junk already, requiring extensive repairs. I've had the car for 3 weeks and so far it seems to be a decent buy. It will also stop the streak of Audis I've had in the last years (5 Audis in a row...), although I will still be owning and driving daily one, which I intend to keep still for several years.
Personally I've been always interested in cars and I tend to do the repairs & services by myself as much as possible, but due to lack of a garage and my preference for comfort nowadays I willingly pay a workshop to do the nasty stuff. Such as replacement of the VCU, which I've already got waiting :)

Pardon for any typos or bad language & funny sentences, which may occur in my English. I'm not a native, so if I may be excused...

Welcome, English is my 1st and only language.

Not that you would know it ;) especially if i'm typing using my phone

welcome, click the forum tab on the top of this page and scroll down to the freelander section, there is someone there asking questions about buying a freelander, you might pick up some good advice there

Thanks redwood, but I think I read everything essential before I made the purchase. There is actually at least 3 good threads with all essentials, however they are tricky to find.
But I will for sure read the forum actively and gain lots of useful information, which may become handy at some point either for me, or then to someone else :)

Edit: HERE is one of the best threads, which I was able to find. That pretty much covers all the essentials...
