Well my time has finaly arrived, three amigos on.TD4, 03. I've read loads of the posts and know most of the likely causes but would like to work through the easy ones first. My initial question is regarding the HDC. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the wiring and the green HDC light works when I turn on the ignition but does not come on when I engage it with the switch. Would this suggest the switch is faulty inside it or could the problem be at the other end of the two cables that disappear to I don't know where. Any help will reduce the possibility of me going INSANE :confused2:

I've checked the wiring to the HDC and it appears to be ok. My next thought was to replace the brake light switch but. ... I AM IMPRESSED!! How did you know I've had an intermittent squeaky wheel? I had to have a new rear wheel cylinder and was told the squeak was caused by brake fluid on the linings. It stopped for a while after but then came back. Could any of this be caused by me backing into harbours and pulling my boat out. Hope not cause if it is it may have to go.

My spirit guide told me.

Only kidding, I looked at your other posts and saw the squeaky wheel one... :D ;)

Are your brake drums adjusted properly or slightly out of true?
Is it definately the brake that's squeaking?
Have you had the drum off to check the new cylinder isn't leaking? Did you have the brake shoes replaced?

The brake light switch is about £15 and ten minutes fiddling to change it but I'd check the ABS sensors and reluctor rings first, the symptoms sound like what happened when one of mine went.
If you do a search, there was a thread on recently about summat similar but the resistances for the ABS sensors were on there.

I wish I had one of those. Could you ask him if the squeak might be connected to the three amigos?
