Yesterday I brought home a gas bottle that had been in the stream .

I saw it a few days ago but didn't want to haul it back home ,but after I saw a wood burning rocket stove, for sale at €60 a pop ,I had to do some research . I will be designing a wood gasifier stove of some sort .
I stayed up all night looking for the best way to use it as a cooking stove .I now have some ideas on how to go about making the thing .First I need to find and liberate some heavy steel pipe from one of the many abandoned industrial building sites .A Sunday job ;).

Any way ,I thought I'd share this old technology I just learned of Trash Powered Honda - DIY - www.gekgasifier.com - YouTube .That is a nice flippin setup .

before you blow yourself up

to safely cut gas bottles you want them gas free and fill with water to purge any remaining.

Also depending on the valve type they may appear empty, but contain some residual gas, you want to use welding gauntlets and keep face away and valve aimed away from anything.

the second reason for wearing gloves is so if it does have gas it won't freeze your hand to it as the gas escapes and the pressure drops.

Even if you think they are empty- it is wise to treat them as not until purged with water.

Oh and the GEK produces tar, look at victory gas works for ideas

you may find these links interesting.

Stanley Meyers who had the water powered car was working with a RN Admiral on water powered war ships and they were due to give a presentation in the house of lords but in the previous week they both died, I wonder why!!!

Also the magnet motor is very interesting could do with one to power my house.

Thanx for the links .I dont intend modifying a wood fueled motor .I really just want a good wood fueled stove . I found a few great web sites all I need is wide diameter pipe to use for the middle bit .
Gasifier.gif

That shows a fan on bottom , mine wont have one .
Thats a drawing lifted from tinterweb but it gives a good idea of what i want to make .
After I drain any remaining gas ,removing the valve and purging with water,I intend cutting the handles off the bottle and moving them down to the side .Depending on the size of pipe I find/acquire/buy ,I will cut a tight hole to suit and mark a circle near the top yada yada yada .

I'll get back to this ,when I actually start cutting .
This guy explains how the thing might work ,much better than I ever could .Spectra Wood Gas Stove - YouTube .
