Fab! Shame they are illegal and won't pass an MOT. Great improvement though!

I know they are illegal if you dont have self levelling headlamps and headlamp washers, but judging by the amount of chavs i see driving around with them, they cant all remove the kit for each mot surely?

they must do unless they want it to fail

my m8 put summit similar in his car and had to remove them at each mot

Around where i work friday night is drifting roundabout night:D and almost every older car has the xenons fitted.
Noise gets on your tits but at least the place is deserted apart from us that is.

I think another member has way way to much spare time on their hands and perhaps needs to get a life of some descritpion!

Do what you want to do to your own brick, that's why its called yours!

Though there doesn't seem to be much of a spread in light if that makes sense, only illuminating the centre circle. I take it the angel eye bit isn't turned on as this in the outer most ring of the main unit.

6K nice choice, above 8K just looks like you got some vouchers for halfrauds.

Yes when i ss them drive past the light looks very poor, some seem to light up the whole area in front of the road and other seem to be just tiny circles of light.

I got same Iridium halo ring halogen headlamps and fitted with Osram Nightbreaker +'s
The Bulbs were £18 and the Lamps delivered from Powerful Uk were £38 and they look the dog's bollocks :D

Nice job on yours btw

the angel eye is on in the second picture and the headlight is on in the third.the light given out is the same if not better than standard lights with a beam pattern also.

Ok decided to take the projector kit away and got a set of 2011 Wipac Quadoptics lights and h4 High Intensity Discharge bulbs H.I.D with 35w ballasts still 6000k.The bulbs I got have a reflector on bottom so the light points up into the top of the reflector thus points down at the road and doesn't splatter everywhere and has the proper beam pattern.Hope this satisfies the die hard fender lovers lol.

That's what I had planned on doing.. Are these illegal?

On my old p38 I had those 6000k hid bulbs and it went through it's mot with them a couple of times, but still not sure about the legalitys of them

HID conversions are illegal. Go to the DOT site and look. They should fail an MOT and testing stations are being told to fail them now. It has taken awhile for it to start filtering through. The police are also starting to clampl down now as well.

My daughters chav boyfriend just got 3 points and fixed penalty for having them on his tit head boom box Corsa. Can't say I feel sorry for the little 'charmer'.

HID's need to have focused beams, washers and self levelling to be legal. While you might appear to have more light available unless it is focussed properly all you have is huge amounts of scatter that is murder on drivers coming the other way.

They do work quite well in spotlight reflectors for off road use though.

Why did you go for 6000k? They produce less light than 4100/4300, so aren't as bright or as good, are a stupid colour and worse, produce far more glare than the lower K bulbs. Bet they cost more too.

It's idiots running high k xenon bulbs, which cause all the distracting glare that are likely to cause bulb checking to become part of the MoT and a more likely targeted modification by the Police.
