Fed up with no radio i have wired one up it was fine but for 1 of the speakers i couldnt find a earth so being stupid i wired the speaker earth to the main earth for radio .. then i turned the truck ignition and it blew all my electrics wtf:doh:the stereo worked fine but because one of the speakers had no earth when you started the truck you got no sound, im not worried about that though atm im wondering why i havent got no electrics could it be a relay.. i hate electrics on cars more than anything any electrical buffs got anyu ideas why they aint working mind it went dark on me probably something simple.

Hi there
Start simple and check all the fuses first. If you've got a multimeter check for continuity on ALL fuses.
If you fit a radio make sure it has an inline fuse. Always attatch speaker wires directly to the radio. Sometimes radios use red and black wires for speaker wire colours. Some use black with white stripe. Please don't confuse them with 12volt +ve and -ve earth power supply. They can go directly onto the battery as long as there's an inline fuse.
Good luck with restoring power

Wingnuts right, there are only a few fuses on the landy series under the steering wheel and sometimes a couple in the bay, if you blow one then a bunch of other stuff may well stop working, its probably not as bad as you think.
Your radio should have a 7.5a fuse inline, and the speakers should be earthed to the correct terminal on the radio, alot of newer sets dont have earthed speakers, both sides are 'live' (this is beacuse the amplifier is 'bridged').
You can get ready made looms for radio's with standard iso connectors on the back.
You can disable the code on a philips set from a rover easy enough, and they'll run on a single supply wire (no permanent feed) the memorys dont need power, wire the set up, switch on whilst holding preset 1, enter the code, its now disabled and wont ask for it again.
