wreg xdi grr

hi ,new here ,first post,i was wondering if you gents could give me some advise pleas.
just paid 8k for a w reg freelander 2.5 diesel xdi
drove it and the engine now seems to lose acceleration momentarily then comes back again,total loss of power etc..
i know i will take it back to dealer,but he isnt a mechanic,so i wondered if you could help with what it may be so that they cant bulls*** me.
its done 62k,and has no history available ,just the logbook etc.

lol no,my error, standard 2litre diesel.1999/2000
it does it on revs and drive.power goes engine doesnt cut out have to takle foot off accelerator and press it again for pickup.

I saw the original post and thought I know whats wrong, you're putting diesel in the only 2.5 litre model in the range, the 2.5 litre V6 Petrol model
That could have been stupid.
There's another popular thread on the forum about the diesels lack of power. Do a search and you'll probably find it.
