Hi guy
Im in serious need of help and advice i will add im not a car mechanic so please bare with my lacking of knowledge.
I have a landrover discovery td5 2 series 2.5 litre engine automatic transmission 1999 plate.

A few months ago whilst on a regular drive it began to miss fire dropping from 5 to possibly 4 or less cylinders. On lifting the hood there was no over heating water level , coolant and oil levels all spot on no obvious signs of damage. Specialist recommened a compression test but after waiting a few months we decided to just take the 5 injecters to be tested they came back in perfect order its coughing out white smoke and pure diesel it also had oil on the red and black connections to the ecu u which we opened and no oil was inside the loom on the injecters was replaced and the wires leading to the ecu cleaned up as correct me if wrong this cant be removed we don't belive it to be the head any ideas etc please let me know the car has huge sentimental value im really at a loss and my family friend mechanic isnt overly intrested in helping me solve it getting slightly annoyed with the lack of help with it

You would be better asking in the discovery section you'll get more advice from gurus there...
