For Sale,
Land Rover 110 in dirty green, never could get the shine back.
200tdi gettin on a bit but I'll warm it up before you get here so it dont smoke too much.
5 Speed gearbox, whines a bit on the motorway but we'll stay local for the test drive.
Brakes are ****in terrible but I'll do the driving because you are not insured.
250,000 miles but the previous owner put a new speedo in and it now reads 85,000 so that's better int it.
Bodged the chassis up with sealant filler and paint for the mot so you're ok for another 9 months then it'll need some serious money spendin on it.
Dont come if it's rainin 'cause the wipers are a bit dodgey, let's hope it stays dry.
Talkin of dry, the inside is usually flooded and the tinwork is corroded but I fixed it with newspaper and flour mixed up into a paper mash thingy and it's come out brilliant so I painted it green to match the rest.
Steerin wanders a bit but if you move the wheel side to side as your drivin it usually goes straight, they all do that.
There you go then, 3 grand to you and it's all yours, an I dont want to see it again, it's your responsibilty from now on.
Oh and it stops suddenly now and again and wont start again till it goes cold, but didn't worry us , we allways carry a flask and some butties just in case.

Is that your new ebay ad:bolt::behindsofa:;)

I've actually done an advert for an Austin Metro along similar lines and the first bloke that came to see it bought it.
He kept praising it and saying how good the good bits were instead of pullin it to pieces, it was like he was sellin it to me. and he paid full askin price:D

Funny you should say that as the last one I sold was a really good motor which I was hoping to NOT sell (had to keep wife happy), so pointed out ALL the bad bit's ... stupid buyer snapped it up because I was so honest and genuine:doh: ... but he did get a cracking motor which p'd me off:( but kept the Mrs. off my case:rolleyes:

Honesty pays sometimes, if you read my advert I openly declare the dreaded subframe pulling out problem which affects early models.........

1999 BMW 328i SE Sport on eBay (end time 03-Mar-10 20:06:12 GMT)

Guy who has just bought it said he was more interested in the advert because it was very open about the defects.........he is also paying nearly full asking price.

In contrast I bought the car and the previous owner didnt tell me about the subframe issues, that was a nice surprise when I got it up on the ramps to do the tracking I can tell ya !!

lol i like it, and i'd probably be more inclined to go look at something that had an honest ad like that rather than an ad where they're gushing about how wonderful it is cos you know damn well they're lying;)

An honest ad would make a change

Seller described my Disco as "a very honest reliable Discovery"...

....imagine my surprise when I ran out of petrol on the way home from collecting it with the gauge still showing 1/4 full. Turns out that's what it always read, regardless of how much jungle juice you put in it

That's disgusting, the least the seller could have said was 'I wouldn't trust the gauge mate, best put some fuel in to get you home'.
I couldn't do that to anyone.

dont think id ever pick up a landy without having a can of fuel!!!!

The petrol issue turned out to be a rotten tank which had fooked the sender. New stainless fuel tank £380, plus labour  But it now works!! :D

I couldn't honestly let someone drive away in a vehicle knowing i'd neglected to mention something as fundamentally crucial!

Cant be any worse than the guy who sold me that 3 series with half the back end not attached properly !

Thats where the rear subframe is supposed to be mounted to the floorplan !!
