I got a Land Rover Experience day when I bought my 2002 90 from lancasters in Reading and chose to go to Eastnor Castle as it's meant to be the best off road course. They only run Discos there which I was a bit disapointed in. But I have to say the Disco 3 is simply bloody amazing. The wife drove round the course too, at roughly 30mph which scared the hell out of all of us...

I love my defender and would never swap it but I'd love a Diosco or Rr for a second car.

My mate's got the newer Defender XS with the Puma engine and the forward facing seats. The seats are good for smaller people but when they grow up it'll be more difficult as headroom and forward visibility is an issue, as the line of sight means they can only see the road in front of the car, with a 12 year old that might be an issue. My 14 year old loves the side seats and protested like hell when I started taking about a safety upgrade on the seats.
All that said in your situation I'd get the seats, which as stated previously come from exmoor trim and cost around 250 squid each. You'll have to replace the carpets as well if you have any as the fittings are completely different. You also lose load carrying capabilty a bit. Another thing I'd recommend is 250 squid with NoiseKiller who's sound proofing has transformed my TD5 it's almost turned it into a car dare I say...
Might quieten down them tyres you got.

Or ditch the missus, who'll probably take the kids as well. Then you can rip all the rear seats out as you'll only need one for the girlfriend  You'll probably want to lose the cubby box as well then and buy that centre seat if you catch my drift.
