currently have 200 tdi defender, which is well sorted..lifted ,.,.simex tyres,,custom made competition front bumper and winch, roof lights, abar with lights ,so many interior mods i couldnt list em all,the list is endless,,problem i now have is the mrs has got the offroading bug and now comes along quite a bit which means the kids have to sometime come along, shes suggested we get a disco instead as its more comfy and the kids will be happier in the back seats of a disco rather than the rears in a defender.

trouble is i love me defender and have spent a fortune on it and i mean a fortune(some of which the wife contributed to)

yes the defender is a handfull on the road and its uncomfortable and not very easy to get into as its lifted and has 35" simex on it,but the fun factor is unreal

so will i get the same fun factor in a disco?
would you do the deed and move to a disco?
what do i do?:confused2:

Try to get her interested in knitting or cooking or even car maintance. If you change to a disco you will be settling for second best. Iv got less than half that much work done to mine and it aint ever going to be for sale. Hope this is what you wanted to hear.

2.....girl 12 and boy 9....fink if she wants to insist on comin its the 90 and like it.ive had a couple of offers of a swap and now having looked i can see why they would want to swap the defender seems to have a greater 2nd hand value than the disco and seems to be the prefferd offroader

well if yuv only got two kids, get a pair of them proper forward facin seats wi the seatbelts(think thi exmoor trim ones or summat)then ya can tell the wife that the kids ar super safe and comfy.anyway iv got a jacked up 90 wi 36" tyres and av got a standard disco,n i reckon the 90 is nice'a t drive than the disco!

trouble is when i refurbed me whole interior a while ago..i re mounted the 2 lefthandside seats removed the bulkhead and installed tubular one, mounted the hilift jack accross the tubular bar and installed a full size storage box on the other wheel arch box.i know them forward facin seats are good but a friend of mine paid nearly £800 for a pair

defenders are a bit more exciting to drive than a disco i have to admit

just gone the other way scrapped a disco rusty pile of ****e and got a 90 so its time to start again keep the 90 mate

agree with Jimbot. Get the forward faceing seats installed. £800? saw him coming! £200ea tops. Should get a pair for 200-250. fit windows if you aint got them.

Face it, your going to have to compromise. i would rather compromise some storage and a hilift for the kids, over switching to a disco...

...heaven forbid :(

FF seats and windows, the kids will love it.
