Would these tyres need a suspension lift?

I'm seriously considering buying some new shoes for my Disco but when I showed my new tyre choice to a Landy mad mate he said I might need to lift the suspension a bit.

He said that fitting a set of 235/70s might possibly need a lift but he wasn't 100% sure on the exact measurements that would require a lift, can anybody here be any more precise?

Hi I run 235/85 16 on my standard disco1. Just had to pull the wings and rear panels out to clear for articulation and also had to adjust the steering stops. Had no problems and fuel ecomomy is about the same

I had 235/70x16 Grizzley Claws fitted till recently .I didnt need a lift but until I fitted wheel spacers I had to adjust the steering stops and lose quite abit of lock.I,ve now got 265/70x 16plus a 2"lift.I,m only 5ft 3 so everyone takes the **** when I climb in and out.

I have the Insa Turbo Mountain fitted to Disco 1 with standard suspension
No problems with clearance.
