well after tackling 2 of the worst jobs ever on my car (boot door spring and heater matrix still not finished that) whats the worst or hardest job you have ever tackled on your disco ?

Changing the dipstick housing on an Disco auto gearbox. Horrible.
Are the 2 bolts that hold it in place even accessible without taking the gearbox off??

I lost patience in trying to find out and ended up breaking it off without even attempting to secure the new one in place, as it seems to stay put perfectly fine once screwed back into the gearbox sump.

popping down to the local garage to pay the bill...hey man, I drive them, not fix them....

I just wish that was true....a few years ago ..it was...just not right now

worse...popping down the garage to pay for the wifes...just takes the pee

I had a bent con rod that wouldn't fit through the bore to get it out. took 2 hours of continues cutting through the smallest hole with the engine still in

you undo mounts and crossmember a lower box down a bit to gain access to the bolt on bellhousing

There are far worse jobs, but just come in from changing the poxy fuel regulator (for the 2nd time after the rebuild kit didnt work), 2hrs of my life wasted on 3 bolts!

I agree with that one, just to get access to the poxy thing me and my dad spent hours removing the plenum chamber and hoses and everything else, right pain in the arse job.

The other ball ache job was removing the viscous fan and water pump, the mechanics who worked on it before tightened the nut way too tight, took hours to get it off.

Changing the dodgy early crank sprocket on 300tdi without a suitable puller. Small slip resulting in a pierced radiator. boooo
