Anyone done it?

Was thinking of a switch just inside the back door, and one on the dash next to a warning light to let me know I've left them on.

Main thinking is, I want the work light at the back, so I want to be able to switch them on where I am, not walk right round, unlock, turn on, go back to the back to do what I wanted to do.
BUT, If I forget to switch them off, I don't want to have to get out, walk round etc, etc to turn them off, so a switch on the dash is good, this way I can also swich them on for extra reversers if I need/want to.

opinions...

Im no sparky, but you could run 2 switches in the live feed for the lights. You would need both on the have lights working. You could use the front switch as a main and have it always on and use rear as an on/off and just use front if you forget to switch off the rear switch if you see what I mean.To be fair don't be lazy and just put 1 in the cab and don't forget:)

you need two changover switches. wire the two outpot terminals on each switch to the outputs on the other switch. feed the power to the first switch , and wire the lights to the feed terminal on the second switch. then yove got a switch on the dash thats feeding power down one of two wires to the rear switch...changing either swich will turn the lights on or off. youll need to run a wire from the lights back to the dash for the warning light.

I'd say do what ricc says. It's just two Spdt switches and two wire from front switch to rear switch. It does exactly what you want.

thats the one ricc, just trying to think of an easier way to get the warning light to work rather than running a cable all the way back. prolly use an LED for the warning light, cos I likes LEDs, got one or 2 floating around.
