Valve clearance should be unaffectted as i didn't skim head, used same make and size (thickness) head gasket and kept all con rods in the right order.

wire off stop solenoid ....... ?

air in fuel system, very strong possibility as i have had injectors out to clean them, and replaced the air lines between them ....... how do i overcome this ?

Check around the head and look for tiny water leaks - if you didn't skim the head, it may be why if it is warped in any way - which if the gasket had 'Gone' (overheated) then it most likely had been warped.

You will need to bleed the fuel system before she will run, if everything else is fine.

yes your valve clearances will need setting!!!

thes is a wire that goes on the the fuel injector pump that is +12v when you turn the ignition on. this fit on to the spade connection on the rear if the injector pump.

Right,
Thanks for the replies lads, I undone the injector lines from the top of the injectors and turned over the engine, then reconnectted them, turned over the engine and she fired up lovely, I let her tick over for 10 minutes and then went out for a drive, gently at first then after 20 miles I decided to 'go for broke' and opened her up, she went like a train, no problems at all.

checked her out carefully when i got back, no leaks, or anything.

So far, looks like a result, £70.00 in parts, no labour charge.

might flog it now and buy a early 90.

cheers all.
Gary.

Yes new head bolts, head gasket, inlet manifold gasket, oil breather 'o' ring, thermostat housing gasket, rocker cover gasket, new thermostat, new glow plugs.

cleaned everything with parrifin and stuck it all back together again, surprisingly no bits left over.
