Bit of a ramdom one here, but in all the years I've been driving I don't think I've ever intentionally turned on the rear screen heater/defroster thing on any car.

I have just bought an 18w LED load lamp I want to fit to the back of my vehicle.

Rather than run extra cables, fuses and switches, I was wondering if the wiring for the rear screen would run the LED lamp...

Obviously I'd be unplugging the heater, as it's never used anyway.

Does this sound like a reasonable idea, or am I missing something important?

But I'm sure someone will be along with amp hours and cable sizes etc:rolleyes:

You could put lamp and heated screen on a two way switch so as only one could be on at a time, and a 15a line fuse to lamp:)
