Hi, I have aftermarket electric windows fitted to my Defender; SPAL I believe. the switch is a dual unit and one is failing and I cannot source a new unit so have bought some late model OE Defender window switches - YUF101521LNF to replace them. I need to source the correct plugs and terminals for these switches can anyone help with a supplier. Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a supplier for the Land Rover parts you'll probably find that they're only available as a sub-loom. Have you thought of buying second hand and joining the wiring? Do you have breakers in N.Z?

Hi, Thanks for that, yes we have wreckers in NZ but late model defenders being dismantled are probably rare so I figured the plugs must be available from somewhere and the UK forum was probably a good place to start. If this is not successful then I will get a mate to have alook at the wreckers in UK. No rush as I see that Spal do prewired units and that could be an option.

The front windows switches use the White 6-way connectors.

They are also used for the front windows switches on Discovery II and Freelander 1.

There are Green, Black, Blue and Purple variants of these connectors (used for central locking, sunroofs, tailgate and rear windows switches). These can also be utilised for front electric windows switches, by paring-off the connector’s keyways with a sharp knife, so that they will fit into any of the differently keyed switches.

If you source some connector shells from a scrap yard, I can supply the proper terminals to fit the connectors.

They're AMP Multilock 070 female receptacles.

I have them for up to 2.0mm2 cable, which is the size used by the electric windows. In the factory circuit, the switches switch the windows directly, there are no relays. I don't know if this is the case with the SPAL circuit.

Hi, Thank you for that info, I will approach the local wreckers and see if they can supply the plugs ex a Disco 2. There are no relays currently fitted which is another reason for fitting the genuine LR parts as they will fit with little or no wiring alterations.
