Having replaced the rear window cable a couple of times using motorcycle brake cable I don't really want do it again as the wear on other components mainly the spiral winding drum is getting such that they are unservicable. I have come across this seller. Not only do you get the cables inner and outer but you appear to get a new drum as well. Hope it's of use to someone. Oh and if it's been posted before tough do do's:)

I recently had to do the rear window thing again. This time I bought one of the repair kits off the bay from a seller "ensarian". The cables were fine but the tensioning device plastic mouldings were not OE quality. The serrated tooth part of the tensioner would not lock in the extended position. The resultant slack in the cables meant that even though the motor ran, the window wasn't lowering when the tailgate handle was operated. Not wanting to dismantle everything again I put a small jubilee clip around the sliding part of the tensioner to lock it in the extended position to remove any cable slack. This has worked and the window now lowers as it should when opening the tailgate. Hope this may be of help to anyone having issues with these kits.

I found the Osco kit on eBay to be good, just make sure the cables are tightly wrapped around the drum - kit includes a new drum as well :)
