How often are you going to use it and for what, this has a big bearing on what you need to spend.
If you going to use it hard on a regular basis get best you can afford, if its occasional self recovery, pay and play etc. maybe get a cheaper one.
Just got a new 13000lb one off ebay for £195 and £180 for a new bumper, some will say buy cheap buy twice. its all about horses for courses.this is what i got for me money

Not hijacking but I am looking to get a cheap one for occasional use.... how much extra weight are we looking at? Will my new standard LR springs cope okay?

I have heavy duty bearmach springs on mine and you can see the nose drop slightly when i put it in the bumper. Shouldn't be to hard to find out the weight but they are a lot heavier than i expected and a tubular bumper is not a lot lighter.

just want it for occational use . i some times need to guide trees when felling or if i have a ladden tralior and i,m in a greasey field need it for a helping hand . but mostly just to have it on the front of county just in caes. i,m thinking of 8000lb champion ,what do you think?

I can't say I've ever used an electric winch. My dad had an engineering firm which mainly dealt with lifting gear for a long time so I've played with bits and pieces but never winches. I have this horrible image of trying to winch something resulting in the bumper being pulled off the front of the vehicle
