Weighing up the pros and cons of winches in the 10K lb class. This will be on a demountable cradle for use on either end of a D1.
I like the look of the Zeon, but
A) it is a lot bigger than the other Warns, so needs its own cradle - which bumps up the price considerably.
B) It's been on the market 3-4 years now, and there seems to be a few folk on the stateside lists whose Zeons have packed in due water ingress. For a winch that is touted as sealed and waterproof that's not so good.
A viable alternative for me is the US-made Smittibilt. Hardly known this side of the Atlantic, it seems to attract a lot of praise.
My questions - firstly, does anyone run a Zeon of any size and have any comments good or bad? Secondly, and it's an outside chance, does anyone run a Smittibilt ?
