To be fair an 8274 is an awesome winch .. for wunch challenges, but for most green-lane situations, much 'lesser' winches are excellent. In an emergency, time for winching is rarely important.

Do you want to sell it cheap? In broken condition?

I have no idea what's wrong with it, or even if it's repairable, but I want/need a winch and I've much more time on my hands than cash!!

It was working fine until I tried it today but it just clicks now so I'm not sure what is wrong with it

Solenoids need cleaning maybe .. ;)

£20 , all I want is the winch, you keep all the rope etc .. ;)

'course, it could be a broken motor wind, clutch, gear, whatever too ... ;)

Heheh, by emergency I meant when you're stuck .. emergency was probably the wrong word.

I have 2 ramsay winches to strip and rebuild they will be slow as but reliable propper worm gear winches will pull and pull and pull all day long.

Must be 2 Dr Evils!! Agghhh!

I have one in me shed just put it in an old diff will put it in the front but its olny 10 spline and I think will shatter the cross pin in no time.

Not readily available and too harsh for the front when you accelerate the cross pin pushes both sides out and engages the half shaft drive gears. when you dont accelerate the side gears can just ratchet around but if you try to pull away on a roundabout the front end will lock up and pull you straight! like a detroit but does not auto unlock and very harsh. I think I may need to get a 300m cross pin for it but then again its only 10 spline so hey ho

far better but I have a detroit and a salisbury rear. The front is going 24 spline and 300m shafts at some point but probably just an open diff as its my road/tow motor. I may throw this locker in for a giggle afterall its only a n hour or so to see how bad good it is.
