Hi,

I was wondering what are the smallest budgets people have used for entering the winch challenge scene? I've been doing play days(in a suzuki:confused::eek::() and am looking to upgrade to a landy, but not sure what the minimum budget is even for the standardish class.

Can anyone help with this?

skys the limit m8 it depends whether u wanna do it for a larf or u wanna compete competitivly

my last rr was a 4.2v8 bobtail arbs front n rear ashcrofts roll cage 8274 front and superwinch back 36" simex etc basically what i thought was needed to compete ,but every motor will be equipped differently

but your better off starting low and working up to what u need to upgrade.trouble is at events those with all the money are quite obvious

went to a challange event the other wkd, and the top guys , must of spent the best part of £20,000 plus. winchs that were double the value of my landy. but thats motorsport , money talks...:)

To compete at top level a trucks could cost you £20k + depending on how you you do and what you want to do.

However best thing to do is get into events at what level you can afford. Once you get to know people and you get recognised and known as a regular and if you are happy to put stickers on your truck you will find companies and sponsors will let you buy stuff a lot more reasonably.

What put me off was the running costs though breaking stuff, new ropes etc. Its one thing to set up a truck its something else keeping it going.

good luck
