Im liking that. Gives the old school look an update. Rap rounds are bloody usefull bush clearing offroad:)

look nice. Got the sun in me face at mo but have ya braced the corners of the wraparound to the Bumper I would be inclined to fit 2 bits of tubing to corners of bumper and attach to wraparound Might stop it been shoved backwards into the lights if ya have a hard bump. Mate had a light bump in her disco and the wraparound quite litterally wrapped around and took out her O/S lights and wing. Bumper never moved though.

That is literary my next job - but ran out of gas so couldn't get a good weld for the side braces.

I also want to fit at least 3mm triangle braces behind the a-frame part onto the bumper to also re-enforce it so it doesn't bend into the bonnet.

Hopefully picking up a new gas bottle Tuesday to get the job finished.

Realised I wasn't completely out of gas (even tho the gauges are reading zero!!), but one of the valves had been knocked and turned off

So managed to finish off the bumper today, by using some left over steel I have - 5mm flat and 5mm 90 degree folded...

So started by adding 2 supports to the A-Frame using the flat and the 90 degree steel...

then added to supports to each corner - 1x 90 degree for the corner and flat for the end....

All in all - 8 new supports - probably over kill, but I rather that, than it bend into the bonnet or lights.

Doesn't look that pretty when you look at the supports, but once fitted, you can't really see them - anyway - functional ;)

what make is the actual bumper as its the size i want. one that stick out a bit so no chopping ot the grill to fit the winch

Sorry mate, haven't a clue what make it is, as picked it second hand, and then played around with it.

That bullbar won't help with that, you want an arb. LR original bullbar a aren't the strongest metal but they do well for protecting against light stuff like small branches and light theifs

I do like the ARB ones but the cost is too much.

Im surprised no one actually make just the mounting plates that bolt to the chassis so peeps can them fab their own bumpers. if some one does ive not come across them.

im thinging of using a C beam as the basis of a winch bumper

It's not hard to make up the plates I made up a batch and used them to build a few from. All you need to do is cut and drill a few holes in some plate, preferably plasma cut.

As to the beam I prefer folded plate, much easier that way
