winch advice

First project on my 2004 Defender. I would like to know if there are decent 2nd hand winches available anywhere. I am looking to put 2nd battery in to run it and also additional electrics. what power and size do I need and where can i get used number and winches from?

The price of winches has come down drastically over the last few years, if you buy secondhand you need to find out why it's up for sale? Repairs can cost as much as a new winch, personally I would go for a new winch. As for power and size of winch, depends what you intend doing with it but in any event factor in a level of safety, say 50% more power than you actually need. Others on here are a lot more knowledgeable than me on the subject of winches and I'm sure will give you the advice you need
