Are early RRC axles slightly longer?
Moons ago I thought there was a difference.

I don't worry about a turning Circle
I drive a motor with a large overhang. Makes laneing more fun.

Ah Probably... disk all round & extra bracket on rear axle to allow double calipers for hydrolic fiddle brakes
I wish I could remember 1/2 the stuff I done to LR specials. Some of these conversions were great.

@dieseldog69
Search land cruisers 80 axles.
Nissan patrol y61

Think these are wider.

I was just wondering about these, are they universal jointed or CV? I seem to remember selectable 4wd and automatic locking hubs for some reason, could be confused though?

Just looked on eBay and saw some Ford F350 Dana 60 axles, £3k each plus transport from DE

Patrol axles look good option though as they are about 5" wider.

I'm going to have to crawl under some motors to confirm ;)

I have seen a few whitbread challenge Landrovers with them.

Joys of scruteneering ;)

I'm thinking about just biting the bullet and getting a Patrol, 4.2 six pot diesel.:eek::eek:

No, not to replace the Disco ;)

But that engine and axles would be 'ansum in the body shell of a Discovery.

Just had a quick surf.
Them prices for axles are stupid.

Some of the challenge motors spend more on the winches than I spent to buy my motor.

Good luck in the new purchase
