My defenders been for sale for a while now with not much interest, am I asking to much or is it a bad time to be selling in the current market.
36500 miles 110 station wagon
Not much history though as it belonged to the father in law who done all the services etc himself.
It’s up for 33k any advice gladly welcome cheers

Did you take the photos on a airfield.
Price is subjective as mainly what one willing to pay. Would you buy at the price.have you tried the trade companies and if so what did they offer.
I would keep hold and look after till near autumn or winter. If someone willing enough this would be the best time.
 
Neither would I, but ive based it on ads ive seen and taken a couple of grand off because of the lack of service history, should probably drop it again really want it gone lol
Asking prices don't always reflect achieved prices. Or even if the vehicles sell at all. Sometimes you see them advertised for years.
You don't say how old the vehicle is, or what engine it has?
But I wouldn't pay anything like that for any Defender.

Have you actually tried it on e bay with your reserve, sometimes bidding wars can break out if your lucky.

Sorry as turboman pointed out i forgot, its a 2014 reg. Dont really know much about these vehicles tbh, we just bought it off the wifes mother last year with the romantic dream of keeping it in the family but its just not practical for us.
 
As above, you can't go by asking prices when you're trying to sell somthing.

If my brother has an apple advertised for £20, doesn't mean I'll be able to sell one for a tenner.

Look at eBay's completed (sold) listings to get an idea of what things actually sell for.

You mentioned you had recently purchased it. I'm not going to ask what you paid, but my feeling is that it wasn't close to £33k...

Dont forget the big prices will be dealers with warranties/premises/employees etc etc.
Plus once you get into serious money people are rightly nervous about handing over that sort of dough with no potential comeback.
Iirc dealers have to offer a 6 mth warranty by law, ie fit for purpose.

WBAC offer a free valuation quick as you like to your email address, and to be fair to them they dont keep sending annoying emails day after day, week after week, few days and you will be forgotten.

Cheers just done wbac and it was 29700 so think il whack it on ebay, I dont blame people for not wanting to hand over that amount with the limited history and no warranty I wouldnt
 
Definitely look at eBay, autotrader and LRO classifieds for an idea of what similar vehicles will make. For a private sale, reduce what you ask in comparison to traders. And be prepared to be messed around, have hagglers and chancers and the like. You will also have to be prepared to take less than you expect in order to sell it. And whilst you’ve got it, keep it secure. Tdci landies in particular are very popular with thieves.
 
I'm a member of a couple of LR groups and many, many people are putting their vehicles up for sale now due to fuel prices. I think the market has already peaked and historically 110s have always been cheaper than 90s second hand anyway as there's not so much demand. I think you are way over priced. Ebay is not a reliable indicator as so many of the ads on there are fake. Have a look on LRO to see what current asking prices are like and as others have said remember they are just asking prices.

I think I would be taking their hand off at that price, lets be honest theres always haggle room, and 33k minus say 10 percent aint far of the wbac price, even if they tweak you down a bit thats still money in your bank.
History is not main issue with defenders like say other expensive cars, it is all about condition.
