hi all once again.
can anyone tell me after selling my p38 v8 a few months ageo im feeling a strong feelng to buy another one. im thinking of geting a desel one though there to meny problems with the petrol engins not to menton the running costs (11-15mpg). can any one tell me the good and bad points of the p38 diesel.

better mpg, most of the electrics the same, however derv is much slower than the 4.0l though a chip improves things abit. Hot start can be a problem to as can cracked heads.
All in all a good choice though.

Worst in my case has been the "hot start issue" real pain at times,i've had no other engine issues, dont expect fast 1/4 mile times though.

The real difference between the P38 and L322 diesels is women. A P38 diesel owner becomes used to the introduction of posh bints exposing themselves through unadulterated lust.
L322 owners believe that they are experiencing the same phenomenon. It is only later that they discover that the cost of an L322 and a nice bit of posh totty are mutually exclusive.
I do accept that both P38 and L322 owners both lose out to Defender owners because the highest class dirty bints are really after a bit of rough and it takes a Defender or a Series to bring it out.

I can't say I have complained once really about the running costs of my L322. If you can complete the work yourself ie at home they are easily affordable ;)
p38 owners, don't be put off by all the "l322 are too expensive, parts are too much" etc ...

Once you drive one you will never want to go back to the p38. Try one for yourself ;)

hot start is not a issue on the p38 if you check the control the injection pump timing every 20.000 to 30.000 kilometer , bmw never have the problem.. is only range rover mechanic &é"'(§è!çà) of they don.t want &é"'(§è!çà)
