Why are used steel wheels more expensive than alloys?

I don't understand! Steels are going for silly money, while alloys are cheap as chips

This is no good to me, I need to have a word with the internet

Could it be that steelies will take a lot of abuse, whilst alloys is fecked if you look at it the wrong way?

Apart from which, steelies look betterer and more Land Roverry!

Think you answered your own Q. You want steelies but don't want to pay, so does everyone else.

Coz steelies is the fashion innit. And fashion = costs more

Hi steve im in Redhill too whereabouts are you i have one steel wheel you can have too

its not just land rovers.....

i used to get ford 14 inch wheels and part worns for 15 quid a corner out the scrappys. - good tires an all..

i needed a spare wheel a while back for a peugeot - thought id visit the same scrap man. he wanted 70 quid for the ropiest looking steelie you ever saw with a tire fit for the bin.....

And I've got a couple of Series wheels you can have. Rusty, but round.

I am sure there was a guy on here a while ago giving away Landy steel wheels and tires?

Seem pretty worthless to me, standard series and fender rims, but maybe I'm wrong.

Manufacturing methods could have something to do with it.
Steel wheels need to be formed from sheet steel, pressed, rolled and welded or riveted together. Alloys are simply cast from aluminium alloy.

I'm more Merstham than Redhilll Yours isn't the Disco off Nutfield road is it, with the huge knobblies?

I have one steel as the spare at the moment, ANR4636, which is a 5.5 width, but I want 6 inches

And tubeless

I have a 110 300tdi - so really looking for 6 inch width defenders

Thanks for the link, but I'm not in such a hurry that I want to actually pay for them! I lent four to a friend, so just keeping an eye open in case something turns up that I may be able to barter on in the meantime.

Likewise - I have 4 perfectly good alloys with spacers that will be coming off when the steels go on! Just need someone who likes bling
