Why are freelander called "gaylanders"

Have to disagree with you, sorry.

1) Def 110 Station Wagon Td4 = Euro 37.300
Freelander 5d Td4 = Euro 43.600 (if autobox = Euro 2.325 extra)
2) If one can pay more to get the thing it's no prob. to keep it on the road as it is less expensive to maintain than a Def.
3) If no "die hard" off-roader why deny yourself the pleasure of an excellent car and go for the primitive version of a vehicule again ?

Thanks. And can't agree more. Have driven once a 90, it's ok for a kilometer or two but than it get's boring. (On an heavy dirt track it's great though). No accelleration, noisy, was a soft top so was inside as cold as outside. On the other hand, the Disco is much better, in it's class as good as the gaylander is in its class. (My gaylander just enters in the garage, in width as in height, and choose between a car which I can enter at night/winter or one that has to stay outside all the time did not take long for me.

fook me grandad ,you can still remember steam cars and livin in caves that why yer drive a 90 that spends most of the time back at the dealers being repaired

just to give a clue, a mate (and fellow 90 driver ) i caught site of him riding in the passenger seat of a daihatsu (about 12 months back) he still gets the **** ripped outa him now. so what do ya think i'd get for driving a gaylander

oh and if all your machanic'n bits was fer free you'd want to do it yer self would you?

besides you must have spent a fook site more time patching up yer greenhouse on wheels and fookin about with the series than has been spent on my 90's in the last 5 years
