Who has a new number plate light...

As the per the title, who has recent experience of a new number plate light - managed to break mine off being careless with a set of ladders in the garage!

Issue I find with so many landy parts is that the plastics and stuff are not even very good, I could see this rotting off the back in 4 years, whereas the current, broken one, is 31 years old! Maybe I should fix it and fit LED tape within it!

Sadly plastic and weathering IE cold frosting rain and hot summers do not mix well after so many years. Clearly marketing for regular parts replacement was key.

Been there with the ladder also...
For 16 pounds you can not expect much. There are other longer lasting ones around for example from Optimil, but then you will pay more.

Have a look at the hgv stuff, check if it will work on 12v as they are normally 24v.
I have tried/tested a few on 12v over the years and they have all worked as bright as if on 24v.

Just fit another OE one. lt will last thirty years. l've never had to touch one of these in 150,000 miles of Defender ownership, not even a bulb change.
