Have a Freelander 2 (2009). Noticed a whirring noise from under bonnet. Switched engine off and it carried on for several seconds. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? Thanks

Electric fans often continue working after engine off. If yours has developed a bit of a noise you might be able to hear it once the engine is off?
Have you lifted the bonnet to identify the source of the the noise?
There's loads of stuff under the bonnet that can make a noise, so knowing the location it's coming from would help.
Common sources of noise are the throttle butterfly, or the cooling fans.

There is normally a wiring noise, but the throttle body can give you issues. Have a look at these.
