I have just connected a Connect2 adaptor to my factory radio in my D2. iPod worked fine and is being charged when connected. However, there is a noticeable noise that increases in volume the faster I drive - not SWMBO - and I understand that a ground loop isolator might be the solution. Can anyone advise how to actually install one of these?! Stereo is the Alpine high line system with amp under the passenger seat. Many thanks!

It sounds like you have a problem of "alternator whine". It's more likely to be noise on the 12 volt power line than anything induced on the ground wiring.

Search on that well known auction website for "alternator whine filter".

The last one I bought was about £12. It has just 3 wires; 12 volts in, 12 volts out to the iPod and ground. Dead simple to wire in. You will probably need to add a second separate "cigarette lighter" socket specifically for your iPod wired from the whine filter.

Some of the little 12 volt to 5v USB adapters can also cause a slight amount of noise.
