Whine identity

Hi I’m trying to find out where this whine is coming from and I was wondering had anyone else experienced it , currently thinking transfer box but hoping for Something simple , was perfectly fine until car has sat for 2 weeks

Are your oils okay if there old worth changing. Whining could be gear engage bearing. Try setting in neutral and see if there noise pressing the clutch .

Yeah oils are really old I bought it as a project last yeah I’ve got around to doing just about everything else but the transfer box and diff oils , been trying to get all the mechanical issues sorted ,should also say it could possibly be a turbo whine as it sounds very similar to this video
Ans I’ve recently just this week had to do an exhaust gasket and Downpipe gasket , I think there is a good chance the inlet manifold isn’t attached properly

Aye gear box noise are normally constant at speed. Turbo whine high pitched could be dry. Sounds like you got a project and a half.

It was a constant noise until I accelerated , it seemed to increase with rpms , so could be either

The only time I heard a noise like that it was a dry transfer box.

It had oil in it I just can’t be sure how much waiting on replacement no idea when it’ll arrive

same. took off the filler and stuck a DIY dip stick to check level. Was very low

New oil in transfer and diffs todsy , noise still present it’s related to Rpm and not speed , gearbox isn’t the problem because I tried Thro all the gears in Nutral
