Hello everyone,
So I’ve currently got a TD5 automatic disco 2. I noticed a whine coming from the engine, thought it might be transmission so changed the oil. Changed the gear box oil whilst I was down there. Then whining noise remains, had gotten worst in fact and now the power steering is playing up and intermittently getting heavy. I’m not a mechanic by any standard but before I book it into a garage, is it the powersteering pump/pulley possibly?
fluid is topped up but after closer inspection the noise definitely comes from the belts and not underneath the car. You can hear it changing up through the gears hence why I did gearbox oil and transmission fluid. Any thoughts or suggestions?
