Can anyone tell me which wire is the speedo feed on a 300tdi Disco (later type, i.e. not cable speedo)

Ideally at the dash end, although, where the sensor thing is on the gearbox maybe useful too.

(I don't have a manual to hand and haven't found the answer by searching)

The lower part is on your transfer box if i remember rightly. if your speedos stopped working i found mine to be a corroded terninal on the box.

Thanks...

I ideally want to temporarily disconnect it at the dash end if possible (I'll put it on a switch if i can find the right wire) but if not i'll go hunt around the transfer box!

If I remember right...
For the R380 box the yellow is the feed to ecu green is the live feed from the fuse,

but check the speed transducer on the transfer box, it likely to be that.

Cheers, i'll try a snip to the green and see what happens (lets hope theres only 1 green wire in the loom behind the dash )

It's not a fault... just want to have it switchable

someone has to ask.... why?

most peeps just dont look at it:confused:

Limited mileage insurance policy + lots of time spent off-road on private land, but, insurance company get arsey bout mileage reading being loads higher than the amount allowed, so, easiest solution is a switch so I can turn it off when on private land

Ain't that illegal or am I being dense? Why not register the Landy as a tractor if she ain't on the road much?

easier to get at them from t-box i should think, only 2 wires mate then run a link wire up the handbrake hole and mount a switch in centre console.

thats would seem to be the easiest and most foolproof way...... unless the electrickery uses the info for anything else.?

I don't think it does mate as it's still a rotor and fit's the same as a mechanical one but uses a pulse rather than cable, just use same type of wire to be sure.

Thanks, that sounds the easiest route, i'll go with that option.

It's not illegal, there is no legal requirement to have a speedo on a vehicle. My series has gone through 2 mot's now with no speedo with no problems.

Ah I didn't know that:eek:, good to know for future reference though.
