My probably useless two penneth is stick with the small bore engine, if you are after the most reliability you can.

I don't know what the shout is on stroking a 3.5 block. Best of both worlds perhaps, stroker 3.5 would be nice and torquey, bigger pistons make more bhp afaik.

Probably too expensive though.

More importantly, where did you source the silicone hoses dude?!

I have not seen anything for RV8 efi...

LOVE that coated plenum btw :D

noisy I think that was the aussie 4.4 as in the p76 . lovely engine but ard to get parts for now :(

The car looked pretty cool in a retro kind of way. shame leylands gone to ****

Thanks, I managed to get a Disco 3.5 EFI plenum - same as the rangey 3.9, but without the number on the top, then bunged all the holes up and got it coated in the same silver as the rocker covers and sump as they were all very scruffy.

The top hose was from here: ACT Performance Products - your source for TVR upgrades, components and performance accessories.. They do the top and bottom hoses as kits, but I managed to by just the top one for nearly half the price as they're not cheap and bottom hose isn't that noticeable. The other small hose is off Mr Silicone on eBay :)

I have put in a 5.0 TVR block. If you can get hold of a used one of these and have it top hat linered this is the best way to top torque and power. I have a 4.0 for sale thats only done 500 miles from a new block if your interested?? Was replaced by 5L - would sell as a stripped or short engine.

fookin hope so, last thing we need is summit twice as **** as a p38 :p

there is a cult following for the p76 is aus

I would love one in my lottery win collection :D

really want to get a 2010 on rr supercharged engine and stop farting about with the old crap engine that are slow and get crap miles to the gallon

nah , p76 4.4!

or any other v8 by any other manufacturer of course :D

I am toying with the idea of putting a p76 in my 110 in the place of the 3.5
A guy we get coming into to work doing our aircon runs one in his landcruiser and has a spare that he will almost give to me. Even over here they are becoming harder to get hold of. They don't appear to have any major faults other than oil leaks.

there are a couple p76 engines for sale on our countries version of ebay. Most have been used in jet boats since being pulled from the ugly old car they once belonged to.
Most seem to sell for between 500 to 800 pound

yeah probably not the best always doing big revs. Most seem to pull these older motors out now and use the toyota/lexus v8 as they light, produce good power, reliable and use a lot less fuel. They also cost around 500pound for a complete engine
