That one is cheap crap that will shatter. If its for a customer give him the choice but personally safari, southdown or mantec snorkels are best

right so its brittle then ? , yeh customers motor, that says safari on the side doesnt it ?
do you mean it will snap if you lean on it/ crash it ?

People have been on here complaining from time to time about the cheaper copies. They say the plastic discolours and that it's substandard material. I personally have no experience of them though so don't know whether the complaints are well founded. I did go for the genuine one for mine, and would very much recommend it if your customer is happy to pay the extra.

You should also consider a wading breather kit (about 25 quid off eBay at most) and possibly a radiator muff/blanket thingy.

Its a cheap copy, a safari is at least twice that money. A genuine one will compress and bend, the cheap ones are very brittle (do a search on here, lots of problems). Personally I prefer the southdown/mantec style ones, alot hardier...

Forgot about that, yes definitley a wading kit needed... about an hours work to fit and about £25 to buy...

No idea. I know the 300 and the 200 are different sides. And im pretty sure that some of the later ones (puma maybe?) has different length/shape wings and bonnet, not sure how it would affect the fitting of a snorkel though.

OP, make sure you order the right one for your engine type what ever brand you decide to go with.

And you need some sealant for fitting the snorkel.

It's mainly personal choice, I dislike the look of the Southdown types, and I think that the Mantec one's look to 'streamline' for a Land Rover, Safari for me

right hes bought a drain pipe mushroom type ! yeh i know terrible looks !
what sealent would you chaps reccomend for it as i want him to be a return customer !
hes given me his 90 to play with for a week :D im used to series and discos to drive :)

Mushrooms look great. I reckon they look much better than the Safari type (just my humble opinion, mind). I had this Mantec one fitted to my 90 together with a breather kit and I'm very happy with it.

If I were you, I'd refuse to fit cheap ****e which is doomed to failure. If it goes wrong, he'll look at you no matter how good your craftmanship.

right ok i will pick some up from parkers then
with regards to breather kits, where did you feed all your pipes upto ? did you do like a whip on the side of the snorkel ?

I bought a little manifold off eBay for about £20. It has 5 x 6mm inlets and an 8mm outlet that you can run up the snorkel.it has 2 bolts that you can bolt it in the engine bay.
