G'day Folks,

I've got another newbie question for you all.

Which mirror system is original to my 1965 series 2a station wagon?

I've got two systems on my left hand wing (RHD vehicle)

Later S2A's and early S3's had a similar metal post fitting on the door top hinges. After that they became the thicker integrated fitting that's used right up to latest Defender. Always think the wing fitting gives better visibility.

with those small round mirrors, wing on passenger side and door on drivers gives me best view in the s1, s3 has the later bigger door mirrors so view is good either side

OK thanks chaps - confusion is now going into overdrive:-

Here are some pictures from google =>

Any way of finding out what was originally fitted?

I think In 1965 wing mirrors were an optional extra not a standard fit. Compulsory seat belts came in that year. ;)
